Medical Aids in South Africa consist basically of public providers and private providers. You will have to do a bit of research into what medical aid you are looking for as they are diverse. Medical aids will also offer you the option of different packages as well as a hospital fund only.

When going onto their website, you will be able to lodge complaints and track it online. However before you do this you will have to contact your medical aid and follow their internal procedures for complaints.

Health Professions Council of South Africa
This Council sets out and monitors the countries health care standards. Health care practitioners must register with this body, which has the authority to set up an inquiry with regards to any complaint of unprofessional practice by its members. This does not cover hospital complaints.
